They will apprise him of the various scams that have rocked the State

Mumbai : The Bharatiya Janata Party leaders from the State will meet President, Pranab Mukherjee, on Tuesday. Their main grouse is that State Governor K Sankaranarayanan has failed in his constitutional duty to rein in the Democratic Front government. The BJP leaders will apprise the President of the various scams that have rocked the State and appeal to him to take appropriate action.

“Governor is the guardian of the State and has to caution and hold the government responsible whenever there are lapses or cases of corruption. Forget about taking any stringent action, our Governor has not even questioned the government on any occasion,” Vinod Tawade told The Free Press Journal. Tawade, Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, added, “The Governor didn’t think it necessary to allow CBI to take action against Ashok Chavan, despite the fact that Congress had asked him to resign. Even in connection with the irrigation scam, the Governor did not summon and question any minister or rap the government.”

However, when asked if the BJP would demand his resignation, BJP leaders said since they cannot criticize the Governor, they will go to the President and brief him on the situation in the Congress-NCP ruled State.
