Mumbai : In a bid to gather commuters’ response regarding their experience of the newly started Bombardier locals, the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has formed a team of five people who will travel in their trains with the survey forms which did not get response while they were put online.

A team of five from the MRVC on Monday boarded the Bombardier locals from Churchgate to Andheri, Borivali and Vashi asking commuters for their response.  The similar feedback form which was uploaded on the website a few days after the train was pressed into service on March 18, failed to get eyeballs. The team is expected to get responses from at least 3,000 to 4,000 people till the end of the month after which a report will be compiled and submitted to the Railway Board (RB).

A senior official from MRVC said, “We will conduct the survey online as well as manually. But it is a fact that not many will go online to give a response in which case doing it manually is a better option. Also, when these officials travel they get a feel of the problems or the commuters along with their response.”

Following the commuters’ feedback survey, another technical survey will be conducted by the Research Design and Standard Organisation (RDSO) which will again give their observation to the RB.  The Board is then expected to take a call on the speed restriction and other aspects of the newly inducted trains.

Subhash Gupta of Yatri Sangh Mumbai, when asked as to why they did not submit their response to MRVC as public representatives, said, “We have already brought our apprehensions regarding the handle of the coaches to the notice of railway authorities. However, there does not seem to be any response as trains were inducted without any changes. We will ask the railways for the report submitted by us and then take the matter forward.”
