Bhayandar : Continuing their crackdown against gambling activities, the Naya Nagar police busted a gambling den that had been operating from an apartment in posh residential area of Mira Road on Sunday afternoon.
Total 11 persons including four women have been arrested and booked under relevant sections of the Bombay Prevention of Gambling Act. Acting on a tip-off, the police swooped down on the fifth floor apartment in Sundaram Building and arrested 11 persons who were found to be indulged in placing monetary bets on card games. Besides gambling material, cash amounting more than Rs l lakh was seized during the raid. This is the third such raid in past less than two weeks.
