Bhayandar : The Mira Road division of the Thane (rural) police busted a gambling den operating from the second floor of a commercial complex in Kashimira.
The den was being brazenly operated from a building directly opposite the police station. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided Bashir Shopping Centre and arrested the gamblers who were found placing monetary bets on card games.
Cash amounting more than Rs 38,000 was seized. Seventeen people including three women and the den operators identified as Vashisth Bahil alias Baban and Minakshi Karande have been arrested.
