MUMBAI : Constructed as part of the extended Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project (MUIP) of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, the 785-meter long Vanjarpatti flyover in Bhiwandi was thrown open to motorists by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday.
Fadnavis also performed Bhoomipujan for the proposed 3-km long flyover that will connect Rajiv Gandhi Chowk to Saibaba Mandir on the Bhiwandi-Kalyan Road. It is estimated to cost Rs150 crore.
During his address, Fadnavis assured people that his government is serious on taking the development into the Mumbai Metropolitan Region and also announced a few infrastructure projects.
“The government will develop the Anjur-Vanjarpatti Road, water supply system, underground sewerage, refurbish Meenatai Thackeray Natyagriha. The city will witness all-round development,” he said.
“The MMRDA has been implementing the extended Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project only to develop the metropolitan region”, added UPS.Madan, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA. He added that to develop Bhiwandi and Kalyan as growth centres, the Authority has made budgetary provision recently.
