Fire at Mumbai petrol pump, six injured

Mumbai: Total six people got injured when fuel tank of a motorbike exploded after it caught fire at a petrol pump in Borivali east at 11: 30 am on Friday. The 23-year-old Bhagyachandra Lalbabu Jha is the resident of Kailashpuri chawl of Kajupada in Poisar in Kandivali east and had gone to the fuel station for petrol but his motorcycle, whose registration number is MH 02 AE 8802, caught fire and later exploded injuring six people.

All the injured have been identified as Arjun Patil, Mayur Vighne, Aniket Sapkal, Sachin Bhagte, Ashba Jadhav and Shailesh Shetty. They were immediately taken to Kanivali’s Shatbadi hospital for treatment.

Three fire engines and one water tank were quickly pressed to douse the inferno.

Kasturba Marg police have registered a case under relevant section of IPC and investigation is underway.
