FIR against ladies bar owner for water theft

Bhayandar : Continuing its crackdown against illegal water connections in the twin-city, officials from the water supply department in the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) filed an FIR at the local police station against local hotelier – Jagjit Singh Dhanota, on charges of illegally tapping the main pipeline to facilitate free flow water supply round the clock to Gandharva Ladies Orchestra Bar in Mira Road.

Junior Engineer, Uttam Randive during a routine vigilance drive spotted an illegally punctured one inch connection to the bar. He immediately swung into action and disconnected the connection and registered a complaint with the police.
While a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at the Navghar police station, no arrests have been made so far. It may be recalled that the MBMC had recently booked a builder and the office bearers of A.J.M Construction, for illegally tapping the main line to facilitate a single inch connection to supply water to an under construction building near Kenwood Park on the Ramdev Park Road.
