Palghar : Virar witnessed a horror on Monday evening when a 18-month girl child was killed by her own father who wasn’t happy with his married life. He killed his daughter by smashing her head on the floor, after he caught her by her feet. The cops have taken the father, identified as Tushar Savjivani, into
custody and are trying to identify the real reason behind this cruel act.
Tushar wasn’t happy about the fact that his wife Arti Savjivani had been to her mother’s place for Ganesh festival and visited her at Ashapuri Chawl, Kargil Nagar in Virar east. He started hurling abuses and assaulted Arti, the moment he saw her. In a fit of rage, he snatched their baby, Hasti Savjivani, from Arti’s clutches, caught her by her feet and smashed her on the floor.
Hasti got seriously injured became unconscious, according to the eye witness. She was rushed to a local hospital but was immediately referred to J.J Hospital for further treatment as she had developed complications but couldn’t survive and succumbed to injuries.
People known to them said that this couple was frequently involved in domestic quarrels and last week itself Tushar had tried to kill their baby according to Arti. The police have registered a case of murder and further investigations are on.
