Mumbai: The State government’s Information and Techno-logy (IT) cell has decided to cover the entire pop-ulation of the state under the link of Aadhar Card. Only 87 per cent population in the state has been enrolled for Aadhar Card and remaining 13 per cent will be covered by the end of this year.

VK Gautam, secretary to IT cell, said that Aadhar card is necessary for all services as all of these are linked with it. “Still, 13 per cent people don’t have the Aadhar Card. We will cover them by the end of this year end,” he said Gautam.  “Most of the remaining population consists of school going children. We have the work force of 9,000 emplo-yees. We are getting extra 2000 kits from the Central govt for the registration of Aadhar card. We are going to make the state digital and this program will be continued to make government departments more transparent,” said Gautam. The Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Centre to link Aadhar card data with the PDS and LPG subsidy. The court, however, rejected a plea to stop further enrolment under the scheme.
