Elderly man run over by train at Sewri station, dies

Mumbai : Taking a shortcut has once again cut life short life of an elderly man who was hit by a local train in Sewri on Sunday evening.

He was rushed to Sion hospital by the Government Railway Police (GRP) where he was declared dead at 5:30 pm. The incident comes nearly 10 days after a 15-year-old girl lost her life while she was trying to cross a track at Sewri railway station itself.

The victim Saniya Shabbir Shaikh was a student of Anjuman-e-Islam and was heading to her school at 6:45 am when the accident had occurred.
