Navi Mumbai: Considering the active contribution of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) officers and employees in the completion of civil service facilities, Rajesh Narvekar, the municipal commissioner, paid special attention to the assured progress of employees.
The Promotion Committee has expedited the benefits of the promotions as well as the Assured Progression Scheme, which have been pending for the past many years, at the earliest. After assuming office, the commissioner reviewed the work of the promotion committee paying close attention to the questions of officers and employees like other work.
Details On Officials Promoted
In this, as recommended by the Promotion Committee, the civic chief Narvekar promoted 326 employees from 18 departments including fire brigade to health department. These include – 11 fire marshals, 4 telephone operators, 3 accountants, 63 room attendants/room maids, 1 business teacher, 1 painting teacher, 2 computer teachers, 1 music teacher, 35 constables, 30 sweepers, 2 assistant plumbers, 15 graveyard guards (watchmen), including 326 employees including 141 staff nurses, 3 gynaecologists, 8 paediatricians, 5 laboratory assistants, 1 dialysis technician.
In the last year and a half, 866 municipal officers and employees of various cadres have been promoted under the improved service assured progress scheme of 3 benefits and now 326 employees of 17 cadres have been added. Thus, in one and a half years total 1192 officers, employees have got the benefit of Assured Pragati Yojana under the revised service of 3 benefits.
