Mumbai: In a combined operation by the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Thane Crime Branch and Shil Daighar police, a drug peddler was arrested from Famous hotel in Shil Phata with over 28 kgs of Marijuana worth Rs 8.5 lakh on Sunday. Acting on a tip off, a team of ANC crime branch Thane and Shil Daighar police successfully laid a trap led by Senior Police Inspector Kishor Khairnar.
The accused Amol Raju Hirve, a 21-year-old, was arrested with marijuana and police also seized his scooter and mobile. Offences under 8(c), 20 (c) of Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic substances act 1985 have been registered against the accused and further investigations is underway said a source.
