Bhayandar : “If voted to power, the BJP will push its Hindutva agenda forward. It is our duty to defeat those forces dividing the society on religious line,” said former chief minister Prithviraj Chavan while campaigning for Congress candidates Yakub Qureshi ( Mira Bhayandar) and Prabhat Patil (Ovala Majiwada) in the Muslim-dominated Naya Nagar area of Mira Road.
“Owing to their extortionist rule and goondaism, the BJP-Shiv Sena government had been kicked out of power in 1999 and it took us 15 years to put back Maharashtra on the road to economic stability and development,” Chavan said.
Speaking on the development front, Chavan said that his government has not only extended financial assistance to local self-governing bodies but also initiated various projects including Metro, Mono and Eastern Freeway. Moreover, decks have been cleared for pumping in Rs 11,500 crore to boost industries which will open ample employment opportunities in the state. MLC Muzaffar Hussain, Sanjay Dutt were also present at the meeting.
