DIG Paraskar records statement

Mumbai: Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sunil Paraskar, on Wednesday summoned his supplementary statement with the Crime Against Women’s Cell (CAWC) at the Mumbai police headquarter. He was summoned by the investigating officer, Assistant Police Inspector (API) Kala Gavit of the CAWC. Paraskar, charged with molestation and rape by a Mumbai-based model, has been booked under sections, 354 (Assault or criminal force against woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354(D) (Stalking), 376(2) (Whoever being a police officer commits rape) and 376(C) (Intercourse by superintendent of jail, remand home, etc) of the IPC. The Sessions Court, on the other hand, will be hearing Paraskar’s anticipatory bail application on Thursday where the police will be submitting a progress report of the case.
