Mumbai : A delivery boy of a restaurant has been arrested on charges of stalking a woman in the Fort area. The accused, identified as Salim Shaikh, was arrested by the MRA Marg police late on Wednesday.

The officials said that Shaikh is a resident of Sion Koliwada, and had first seen the 29-year-old victim when he delivered food to her house. A few days later, on September 8, the victim noticed that Shaikh would loiter around her apartment complex and sometimes followed her to her apartment.

She simultaneously called the police helpline number 100 and reported the incident. “A wireless van was dispatched to the area in Fort that the victim mentioned and the officials apprehended Shaikh,” said Dhananjay Kulkarni, deputy commissioner and Mumbai police spokesperson.
