Mumbai : The Indian Navy along with the Coast Guard and the Indian Air Force are conducting an annual defence exercise off Gujarat to be prepared to prevent another 26/11-like terror attack situation.
“Over 30 ships, submarines and aircraft of the Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Coast Guard and State agencies have been deployed for this exercise off the Western Coast of India. During this exercise, the defence of the offshore oil production areas will also be tested. This exercise will provide an opportunity to fine tune SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) and test new operational concepts for coastal security,” stated a press statement issued by the defence wing of the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
