Aurangabad: Danve family stands divided after Raosaheb’s son-in-law’s video clip blaming him goes viral. In the video, Harshvardhan Jadhav, son-in-law of state BJP president Raosaheb Danve, said, Danve had promised he would have the entire BJP rooting for Jadhav, but he did not do so. Jadhav, the Independent candidate from Aurangabad, said, “Danve let me down.” This comes immediately after Chandrakant Khaire, the Shiv Sena candidate for the saffron alliance alleged that Danve had failed to follow the alliance dharma. Khaire in fact has raised this issue with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and national party president Amit Shah. This has got Danve into double trouble.
Jadhav is also president of Shiv Swaraj Paksh. Arun Khot wanted to contest from Jalna seat against Danve, but Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and Khaire persuaded him not to do so. “Danve has not respected the alliance dharma and at the same time he has been unable to prevent his own son-in-law from doing so,” complained Khaire. BJP workers, post holders and corporators did their best to campaign for Khaire.
Sujit Singh Thakur, the General Secretary of Maharashtra BJP refuted the allegations saying Danve did not work for Khaire. “I was camped here for three days, at the behest of Fadnavis and Danve. I held press conferences and campaigned for Khaire. The workers were also asked not to fall for any rumours and instead work passionately to help win the alliance candidate,” said Thakur.
