Ahmednagar: In a spine-chilling incident, three members of a Dalit family were hacked and dumped in a dry well in Pathardi taluka of Ahmednagar district on the intervening night of Monday.

According to media reports, Sanjay Jagannath Jadhav (42), his wife Jayashri (38) and son Sunil (19), natives of Jawkhade Khalsa village in Pathardi taluka, owned a one acre farm, which was 5 km from their residence. On Tuesday morning, labourers working in Jadhav’s farm saw the door of Jadhav’s house ajar but no one seemed to be inside.

They immediately informed Jadhav’s relatives who arrived soon thereafter. They saw blood stains near the house which led to a search for the missing Jadhav family members. Inquiries were also made in the hospitals at Pathardi and Ahmednagar, but to no avail. In the evening, the hacked human remains were recovered from the dry well in the locality. The locals are enraged over the killings and did not allow the police to conduct the panchnama. The reason behind the killings is not known.
