This is second such incident after the infamous Chaddi-Banian gang had targeted the similar locality, barely 15 days ago, which also houses the Palghar additional SP office.

Palghar : Another dacoity, this time at gun point, at a location which is hardly 50 meters away from the Palghar additional SP’s office has left a question mark on the safety of citizens in Vasai Taluka. A trio, equipped with gun and sharp weapons, entered Manasi Jewelers situated on the Vasai – Nalasopara link road and decamped with around valuables including Rs 6.5 lakh worth gold, 1 kg silver and cash of around Rs 12,000 on Monday night.

Around 9:15 pm when Vikram Rajpurohit (20) was about to down the shutters, three men barged into his shop with the intention of looting it. While one of them downed the shutters another slapped Rajpurohit and held a gun towards his head asking for the keys of locker. Once the huge locker was opened they dumped Rajpurohit in the locker and looted the shop. Rajpurohit also claimed that while one had pointed a gun another had held a knife on his neck leaving him completely clueless and with no time to react.

While a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC and Arms Act, cops have launched a hunt to nab the criminals.

This incident has once again left a question mark on law and order situation in Vasai Virar region as with every passing day a new gang is emerging to fight the toothless Palghar Police. People are surprised with the increasing number of crimes in and around the additional SP office which is shocking.
