Services on the up fast line took one and a half hours to be resumed
Mumbai: Commuters on Central Railway (CR) were yet again inconvenienced with disruption in the train services due to the breakage of an overhead wire at Sion, which was aggravated with the mega block.
The Over Head Equipment (OHE) of a local train heading towards CST got entangled with the wires near Sion at 1:30 pm. The problem on the down line (towards Kalyan) was solved in 15 minutes but that on the up fast line (towards CST) took about 1 hour and 30 minutes to be restored. CR officials had to take a power block to restore the problem and the trains had to be diverted to the slow track until then.
It being a Sunday, the commuters had to face additional problems as there was a bunching of trains due to the incident and the trains were seen running with a delay of about 30 minutes.
