COVID-19: Maharashtra cumulative vaccination tally crosses 3.48 crore

In the ongoing vaccination drive, Maharashtra on July 6 has vaccinated 3,90,099 people through 2,319 centres.

According to data released by the government, Maharashtra, as of 7 am on July 7, inoculated 3,48,03,198 people.

As per the state government data, 79,07,786 individuals aged between 18 and 44 years received the vaccine doses in the state till Tuesday since the inoculation drive for this age group began on May 1.

So far, 12,80,715 health care workers have been administered the first dose of the vaccine, while 8,54,531 of them have got their second dose.

Similarly, 20,98,057 frontline workers in the state have till now received their first vaccine dose and of them, 9,53,934 got their second dose.

Maharashtra tops the states with a total of 3,48,03,198 inoculations followed by Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, with 3,45,24,680, 2,73,31,870 and 2,58,48,324 doses respectively.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 8,418 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 171 fatalities while 10,548 patients were discharged during the day, the state health department said.

With the new additions, Maharashtra's caseload went up to 61,13,335 and the death toll to 1,23,531. The number of recoveries so far stands at 58,72,268, leaving the state with 1,14,297 active cases, the department said. Maharashtra's case recovery rate now stands at 96.06 per cent and the COVID-19 fatality rate is 2.01 per cent, it said, adding that the case positivity rate is 14.25 per cent.
