Instead of witnessing a decline, the COVID-19 caseload is on the rise in Maharashtra if we look at the numbers in the past three days. On Wednesday, the state recorded 9,771 fresh cases, whereas the state saw 8,623 new cases on Tuesday and on Monday, 6,727 cases were registered.
Besides, 141 COVID-19 deaths were reported on Wednesday, taking the number of total fatalities to 1,21,945. 231 COVID-19 deaths were reported on Tuesday, while Monday saw 101 deaths.
The number of active cases in the state are 1,16,364.
10,353 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 58,19,901. The recovery rate in the state rose to 96.02%. The case fatality rate in the state is 2.01%.
Currently, 6,17,926 people are in home quarantine and 4,173 people are in institutional quarantine.
The Mumbai circle--which consists of MCGM, Thane, TMC, Navi Mumbai, KDMC, Ulhasnagar MC, Bhivandi Nijampur MC, Mira Bhayandar MC, Palghar, Vasai Virar MC, Raigad, Panvel MC--recorded 2164 new cases.
The Nashik circle--which consists of Nashik, Nashik MC, Malegaon MC, Ahmednagar, Ahmednagar MC, Dhule, Dhule MC, Jalgaon, Jalgaon MC, Nandurbar--reported 530 fresh COVID-19 cases.
The Pune circle--which includes Pune, PMC, PCMC, Solapur, Solapur MC, Satara--recorded 2682 new cases.
The Kolhapur circle reported 3737 new cases, Aurangabad circle 133, Latur circle 246, Akola circle 191, and Nagpur circle recorded 88 new COVID-19 cases.
