Coronavirus in Pune: PMC's COVID-19 tally rises by 336, PCMC records 195 new cases

Pune reported 366 new coronavirus cases yesterday, taking its COVID-19 count to 1,57,417.

As per the update by Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, 19 people succumbed to the infection, with this the death toll went up to 3,983.

A total of 698 patients were discharged during the day, taking the number of active cases to 9,507. As of now, 1,43,927 people were dischraged/recovered.

Yesterday 3,066 tests were conducted taking the total count to 7,02,124.

In the neighbouring twin-city of Pimpri Chinchwad, 195 COVID-19 cases were reported yesterday, taking the COVID-19 cases tally to 85,518. 4 deaths were recorded during the day. Now, the death toll due to the infection is at 1,477.

A total of 263 people were discharged on the day, taking the total of cured COVID-19 patients to 81,370.

Yesterday 1,704 tests were conducted and the tally has reached 3,79,412.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 tally in Pune district reached 3,14,462 in the last 24 hours with 817 people being detected with the infection, while this period also saw 31 deaths and 698 getting discharged, an official said on Sunday.

The toll in the district stands at 7,449, while the overall infection tally comprises 1,57,417 cases in Pune Municipal Corporation limits, 85,518 in Pimpri Chinchwad and the rest in rural and cantonment areas of the district, he said.
