Mumbai : The Worli Police have booked two drivers who were driving high-end cars, a Ferrari and a Lamborghini, for over speeding and rash and negligent driving.

The drivers were booked after the cops received several complaints from local residents about loud noise from screeching cars late in the night.

The cops are, however, tightlipped about the identity of the owners of the vehicles. They have merely identified Nitin Musale (28), who was allegedly driving the red Ferrari (JH-08-E-09) and Anup Mhaskar (24), who was allegedly in the yellow Lamborghini. They were nabbed on Tuesday night and released after they coughed up the fine.

The Worli police officials said that they had received several complaints from local residents on Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road (Worli Seaface) about high-decibel speeding cars late at night.

After the written complaint was made to the deputy commissioner of police and the assistant commissioner of police of Worli, police patrolling was increased in the sea face area. On Tuesday at 11 PM a police patrol van received a wireless message that two sports cars were seen speeding on KAG Khan road.

“We waited at the Bindu Madhav Thakre junction but the cars had already passed. However, we decided to wait, in case the cars return, which they did after a few minutes,” said PSI Anant Raorane from Worli police station.

The drivers were stopped at the barricade and booked.
