Aurangabad : A Congress legislator from Jintoor Assembly constituency in Parbhani district, MLA Ramprasad Bordikar, has been booked for using highly offensive language against police from dais while addressing a rally recently. However, he hasn’t been arrested yet though the FIR is registered.
According to sources MLA Bordikar was addressing a farmers’ rally taken out against the MSEDCL drive of disconnection farmers’ power supply near the Shivaji statue in Parbhani recently. He in his speech not only used highly offensive, obscene, objectionable and indecent language against police from dais but also threatened them of dire consequences, if they fail to maintain law and order.
A head constable deployed in the bandobast of the rally, Shaikh Jafar Shaikh Mehmood, lodged a complaint against the ruling party legislator, MLA Bordikar, with the Nava Mondha police station of the town on Sunday, which was later converted into an FIR under Section 294 (offensive language), 504 (abuse) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
The head of the police station, PI Maneesh Kalyankar, told this correspondent that we have sufficient proof against MLA Bordikar.
His entire speech has been shot on camera. Therefore the MLA will be arrested though it is a bailable offence.
