Mumbai : Samajwadi Party’s state unit chief Abu Azmi has appealed to the Congress party to take a lead in uniting secular forces in the state against growing clout of BJP-Shiv Sena led alliance.
“Congress and NCP form the ruling alliance. So, they should take a lead to bring together all the secular parties,” Azmi said at a press conference on Wednesday.
“SP high command has told me to do every possible thing to stop communal forces in the state. We still have a government in UP and my party would help us during the coming elections,” he added.
