CM approves development plan for villages in Kalyan-Dombivali

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved development plan of 27 villages in Kalyan-Dombivali and 60 villages in Bhiwandi in neighbouring Thane district.

The plans were pending with the government for over two years.

Fadnavis also asked the urban development department to focus on infrastructure, roads, sanitation for this area keeping in mind population growth in the next 20 years, an official statement said here.

He also asked the department to consider setting up a Nagar Parishad (municipal council) for these 27 villages for further development.

Fadnavis said as the area is on the outskirts of Mumbai, development was important. He also asked for affordable housing proposal for this region.

The development plan of 60 villages in Bhiwandi envisages upgrading them into a logistics hub.
