Beed: Khairulla Khan (52), a teacher from Bukhari school at Majalgaon, Beed, along with his wife had gone to visit his son Sardar Khan who worked at a medical centre in Muscat. However, there was a disaster awaiting the family of 6 in Oman, as unexpectedly there was a cloud burst on May 18. The Khan family got caught in it and are said to have disappeared.
On May 18, Khairulla, his wife, and Sardar, along with three kids, were travelling to a tourist spot, Wilayat Wadi Bani Khalid.
However by evening, the weather suddenly changed, as gusty winds were felt and dark clouds descended and began to rain heavily. The car got a few jerks due to the heavy winds. Sardar parked it to get out and check. But the heavy flowing water dragged it. Sardar moved closer to a tree and hung onto a branch, but the family was washed away.
Locals and tourists have been stranded due to the cloud burst and heavy rains. Hundreds are reportedly missing. The Oman Govt has deployed rescuers and helicopters for the search. However, the news has set gloom in Raj gully of Majalgaon. Khairulla’s family and relatives contacted the foreign ministry, which is in touch with the Oman Govt. They are expecting some news soon.
