Cops arrest two peeping toms
Bhayandar: The Thane (rural) police have arrested two ‘Peeping Tom’s’ who were caught red handed while trying to click photographs of a 28-year-old woman who was having a bath in her tenement in Vasai on Wednesday. One of the accused is a minor aged 15-years, police said. According to the police the accused identified as Prathmesh Thakur (20) and 15-year-old Munna (name changed), climbed up to the window of the woman’s bathroom while she was taking a bath and started filming her. However, one of the miscreants lost balance and fell alerting the woman who raised an alarm following which the duo were caught by the neighbours. After a sound thrashing both were handed over to the police who arrested them and slapped a case under section 354 of the IPC. The duo have confessed to the crime and the police are investigating if the “Peeping Tom’s” had indulged in similar acts.
Man attempts rape on 5-yr-old, held
The Vasai police has arrested a 50-year-old man on charges of attempting rape the five-year-old daughter of his neighbour in Pachu-Bunder village. Identified as Aslam Khan (50) the accused has been arrested and booked under section 376 (2) and 511 of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012. Further investigations are on.
