Mumbai: The work of the most-awaited project of the Central Railway Parel terminus is almost over, and it will soon start for the convenience of thousands of daily commuters. Also, it will ease the pressure from Dadar station. The CR operated a traffic and power block till early Sunday morning for yard remodelling at Parel. The project comes under the second phase of Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP 2). The estimated cost of the Parel terminus project is `51 crore.
Sunil Udasi, CPRO, CR, said: “The project will benefit commuters, as it will reduce time for travellers to Dadar station. It will also provide an access to local stations starting from Parel towards Thane, Kalyan and vice versa. “It is one of the major projects of the year 2019 and will ease pressure at Dadar station,” added Udasi.
