Censor agent nabbed for taking bribe

Mumbai:  The Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) on Thursday arrested a Censor Certification Agent from Mumbai, Shripati Mishra for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 70,000 on behalf of the CEO of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Rakesh Kumar. The bribe was allegedly taken to issue a Censor Certificate for Regional Film from Chhattisgarh, ‘Mor Dauki Ke Bihav’ urgently as the film was supposed to be released on August 15. An Advisory Panel Member of the CBFC from Mumbai, Sarvesh Jaiswal was also caught accepting the bribe in a trap laid by the CBI. While Mishra was remanded to police custody till August 20 by the court, the CBI is searching the residences of Kumar and Jaiswal and continuing its investigations.
