Mumbai : Three more people regained their eyesight after successful eye surgery at JJ hospital on Friday, taking the total number of people who regained their vision to seven. Meanwhile, the remaining 16 patients have been operated on and they are in the recovery stage, said the dean of JJ hospital.
On October 31, 23 patients were admitted to JJ hospital after a botched-up cataract surgery at a district hospital at Washim. Following the surgery, the eyes of the patients developed pseudo-monas infection. Two doctors of Washim hospital have been suspended.
Dr TP Lahane, dean of JJ hospital said: “It would take nearly seven days to a month for their [16 patients] recovery. Only then we can say if they can regain their vision.”
