Mumbai : The BMC will help the BEST by managing to give it Rs 150 crore. This may mean that the proposed BEST fare hike from the month of April will not take place. It is a first for the BMC when it will contribute to the tune of Rs 150 crore whereas
it used to shell out only
Rs 50 lakh for the BEST. Standing committee chairman Rahul Shevale directed that a corpus of Rs 150 crore be made available to BEST in view of its losses as it will help to ensure a better service to the passengers.
