Mumbai : BMC’s improvements committee chairman Prakash Gangadhare alleged that the civic administration has failed to seriously consider the resolutions passed by the committee in its meetings.
Gangadhare wrote to the BMC chief Ajoy Mehta urging that the administration should take quick action regarding instructions given in the resolutions passed by the improvements committee.
Since 2011, 23 resolutions passed by the committee are pending before the civic administration as it has not taken cognizance of the issues.
Usually, some resolutions passed by the committee are forwarded to the administrative department for its inputs and remarks. The administration is supposed to submit a report of its inputs to the committee at the earliest.
The committee members have demanded that all future reports be submitted to the committee by the civic administration within 45 days.
Several members of the committee expressed outrage due to the snail’s pace at which administration carries out the work. In the letter, Gangadhare has indicated that upcoming committee meeting will be adjourned if resolutions passed in the previous 4 to 5 years are not considered urgently and presented before the committee for reconsideration, along with remarks and report of the civic administration.
