Blast in chemical factory at Mahad, 1 dead

Mumbai: An explosion in the Embio chemical factory in Mahad (district Raigad) which produces Ephedine Hydroch-loride led to the death of a supervisor on Sunday morning. According to Madhav Bagade, member of the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) standing committee, the explosion happened due to leakage in the factory’s chemical reactor at 3 am and resulted in collapse of the room’s slab. Factory trainee supervisor Ganesh Kamble (23) died on the spot while four others have been injured. The injured are now taking treatment in private hospitals in Mumbai.
