Biker killed in Bhiwandi

A 32-year-old biker lost his life when an unknown vehicle hit him on Mumbai-Nashik highway near Bhiwandi on Tuesday. The vehicle fled the spot. The deceased, Chetan Bhangare,32, resided at Kalyan East. He worked at Blu Dart. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Thane: A 32-year-old biker lost his life when an unknown vehicle hit him on Mumbai-Nashik highway near Bhiwandi on Tuesday. The vehicle fled the spot. The deceased, Chetan Bhangare,32, resided at Kalyan East. He worked at Blu Dart. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. According to the police, On Tuesday night, Bhangare completed his work and headed towards Kalyan from Pimplas on Mumbai-Nashik highway. An unknown vehicle rammed into him from the rear and fled the spot, leaving Bhangare seriously injured.

The passersby rushed the accident victim to a nearby private hospital, later to be shifted to a City Care private hospital in Thane by his family. He succumbed on Wednesday evening while undergoing treatment. Bhiwandi Kongaon police filed a case under Sections 304 (A) of the Indian Penal Code and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act against uniden­ti­fied vehicle driver. A senior cop said, “We will scan CCTV footages around the area where the mishap took place. We will try to nab the accused driver soon.”
