Mumbai: Prakash Ambedkar, president of Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh alleged Pune police confiscated electronic gadgets from the residence of activists to destroy evidence gathered by them which can prove the link between Sambhaji Bhide and the caste-riot at Bhima Koregaon. He also claimed that he had submitted evidence of Raosaheb Patil who had appealed people to kill Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Girish Bapat, guardian minister of Pune. Pune police on Tuesday conducted search operation at the residence of activists related to Kabir Kala Manch in Pune, Mumbai and Nagpur in the case register in Pune for organising Yelagar rally on December 30 last year.
Ambedkar, while addressing media on Wednesday, stated he had submitted all evidence to CM Fadnavis in which links were there that proved Bhide’s involvement in Bhima-Koregaon riot. “CM Devendra Fadnavis is lying as he has the link and the issue of raids of police with the search of Maoist supporter in urban area. In fact, these searches were conducted to recover evidence from the activists,” said Ambedkar. He further said, I told chief minister to find out links of Raosaheb Patil, but he did nothing despite Patil had threatened to kill CM and Bapat.
According to Ambedkar, Patil on his Facebook page had stated he was associated with Bhide and people must kill CM. Later the page was deleted. He claimed the state government want to threaten Dalit community by raiding on residence of activists. “Sudhir Dhawale was arrested few years back. He was charged as supporter of naxal on ground some books related to (Karl) Marx and left ideology found in his house. We asked the court and the police why not the author be arrested? The readers are naxal supporter but the authors do not, how can it be accepted?” Ambedkar questioned and said Dhawale is now on bail.
He reiterated if state will not arrest Bhide, dalit people will stage gherao to Vidhan Bhavan during monsoon session.
