Bhayandar: Husband, kin booked over wife’s suicide

Bhayandar: Four days after a 29-year-old woman was found dead in mysterious circumstances inside her tenement in Bhayandar, the Navghar police have booked her husband and two other members of her in-laws family on charges of abetting her suicide.

According to the police, the woman identified as- Sunita Devendra Bhujad (29) was found hanging to the ceiling fan of her tenement in Bhayandar (E).

Initially the police had registered a case of accidental death under section 174 of the CrPC, however following a complaint filed by the brother of the deceased woman, the police booked her husband- Devendra Bhujad (42), in-laws- Ganeshand Sarita under sections 306 and 498 (a) of the IPC. It came to fore that Sunita was being harassed by the trio for dowry, which drove her to take the extreme step.
