Mumbai: Two youths, held for stabbing a toll plaza worker on Worli sea link on Sunday, were produced before the metropolitan magistrate’s court in Bandra that has remanded them in police custody till September 15. Paleshwar Chavan (25) and Rahul Rege (22) were arrested for stabbing a toll manager on Worli sea link on Sunday evening.

Both the accused refused to pay toll and tried to flee in their car without paying but the staff members intercepted their car. The accused came out of their car and thrashed toll staffer Amol Chavan for standing up to them. Later, Paleshwar took out his knife and stabbed Amol in his abdomen. Police said Paleshwar is a history-sheeter, who is already facing a charge of attempt to murder, registered at Vakola police station. Toll manager Prabhakar Atmaram Bhalekar (47) registered a complaint against the duo at Bandra police station. The senior inspector said, “We are investigating the case.”
