Bhayandar :  The Navghar police have arrested two men including a 42-year-old self proclaimed ‘Anti-Corruption Crusader’ on charges of demanding extortion from a local businessman in Bhayandar.

Identified as Dinkar Baburao Dikshit (42), the accused moves around as state-level office-bearer of New Delhi-based ‘Rashtriya Bhrashtachar Nirodhak Tiger’s Sansthan’. Dikshit had allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh as extortion money from local businessman Gurmeet Naagi over a dispute on an illegal construction. Following Naagi’s complaint, a police team led by PI (Crime) Suresh Gengje arrested Dikshit and his aide Rakesh Kanojia (25) on Sunday. Police also recovered an amber beacon (used by government officials) and two knives from Dikshit’s training school which the police believe was just facade to conceal his nefarious activities.  Meanwhile, the duo was remanded to custody.
