Mumbai: Shilpi Thard, a resident of the Lodha group named New Cuffe Parade at Wadala, who owns two flats worth Rs 6 crore in this project, has alleged she is facing a tough time with the Lodha appointed security guards and bouncers. She has alleged, these guards and bouncers are using physical force preventing her guests from visiting her residence or even entering the building. She also posted videos on YouTube as evidence. Thard has alleged, “Whenever I visit my apartment in New Cuffe Parade, with any guests, I am left embarrassed with the treatment meted out to them. The security guards and bouncers ask them to leave the premises immediately. I believe their (Lodha) aim is to scare me and terrorise other residents who will try to speak against them.”

She also claimed the flats they have purchased are not in liveable condition as it lacks fire and other safety equipment. She also goes on to say that the builder has allegedly given 30 per cent less carpet area as against the signed agreement. Besides this, the Bombay High Court (HC) has also recently quashed Lodha’s plea wherein they had moved the court seeking gag orders on activist Krishnaraj Rao who has helped her file a case against Lodha builders. The court had appointed an architect who made some observations which have gone in Thard’s favour.

The owner further claimed that she has been fooled into purchasing a cardboard house, worth Rs 6 crore, as Lodha group claimed it was dry wall technology.  “I am paying monthly instalments for my home loan, but it is not safe for us to live here. Currently, I am residing with my family in a rented apartment at Bangalore,” alleged Thard.  She has claimed she will continue to expose the builder for making false promises. Her complaints against Lodha group prompted them to file a defamation suit against her, claiming Rs 100 crore damages after the video she uploaded exposing their claims of ‘dry wall technology’ was busted. Despite tremendous calls, and email messages to send us their statement, Lodha group has refused to comment on the issue.
