Mumbai : A week after 35-year-old Bahadur Singh set his bedroom on fire while his family were sleeping inside, his 13-month-old son Jaidev succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai late on Thursday night.
The bizarre incident was reported from the 5th floor apartment in Ivy Tower of Hub Town in Mira Road on Thursday. Jaidev”s aunt – Shakeela Shaikh (20) and mother Tanya (28) had succumbed to burn injuries hours after the incident. Fed up by Tanya”s demands of owning a flat, Bahadur also suspected her of having an illicit relationship and in an attempt to eliminate the second woman in his life, hatched a conspiracy. On the fateful night he spilled petrol in the bedroom and set it on fire. Booked under section 302 of the IPC, Bahadur Singh who was arrested from Mount Abu in Rajasthan last Saturday has been remanded to police custody till 11, January, police said.
