Mumbai: The police arrested on Sunday, one Nadim Shaikh, for strangulating an 8-year-old boy while he was asleep at home. Mohammad Shaikh, a tailor, had gone to his relatives’ place for a function with his family leaving their son Maqsood Shaikh with his teenage brother alone at home. On June 6, between 12.30 am and 11 am, Nadim sneaked into the house to meet Maqsood’s elder sister. However, Maqsood woke up and saw him, which frightened Nadim, as a result of which he strangulated and killed him. Nadim was presented in Kurla’s Court number 60 on Monday and has been placed in remand at the Shivaji Nagar Police station for seven days. (staff reporter)
