Mumbai : There was high drama in the Borivali magistrate’s court after 21-year-olds Mihika Wadhone, Siddharth Yadav and Mehul Goswami, who were arrested by Malad police on Sunday in a road rage case, were produced. Moments after the court ordered police custody for all the accused, one of the accused Mihika Wadhone smashed her head on a wall three to four times.

The incident occurred at around 2 pm, inside Borivali magistrate court, when the judge ordered police custody for the accused till July 23. The moment Mihika heard the judgment; she smashed her head on the wall three to four times, due to which she sustained an injury on her forehead. According to sources, people present in the court room were shocked. Blood drops were seen on the lady constable’s clothes. She was immediately given medical aid and was later taken to the Shatabdi hospital for further medical treatment.

A police official said that the three accused have been booked on charges of attempt to murder (307), causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons (326), 504 (intentional insult) and common intention (34) of Indian Penal Code.

According to the police, the incident had occurred on July 14, when victim Irwin Cardozo (29) was returning home from a fitness centre. Near Orlem Church in Malad west, the victim and accused indulged in an ugly spat. Suddenly, Cardozo was attacked by Mihika with a paper-cutter on his face, after which an FIR was registered against the accused.
