8 flyovers, 14 bridges  to come up in City

Mumabi : The BMC will construct eight flyovers and 14 bridges in Mumbai; four of these flyovers will be in Goregaon and seven bridges in Andheri. The construction is expected to begin after six months when the tendering process is completed.

Chief Engineer of BMC’s Bridge Department S P O Kori said estimated cost will be Rs 147 crore and Rs 501 crore for bridges and flyovers respectively.

This year, there is no flyover planned for the Island City.

However, the civic body will construct one new flyover at Devanar and seven in Andheri.

BMC will construct first flyover at Goregaon West at the junction of Veer Savarkar Bridge and S V Road, second flyover across S V Road at Ram Mandir Road junction, third flyover at Chincholi junction and fourth at Bangur Nagar junction.

Rs 120 crore will be the highest estimated cost for the flyover across S V Road at Ram Mandir Road junction.

The civic body will construct eight bridges in Western suburbs. Maximum number of 7 will be constructed at Andheri.

In Andheri, bridges will be constructed at Phadke Marg Crossing to Telli Gally and N S Phadke Marg, Wamanrao Mahadok Marg linked to Sanjiwani Enclave Road at Sardar Patel Nagar, Oshivara Nagar, over Irla Nalla behind Croma showroom.

BMC will construct three new bridges each, in the City as well as Eastern suburbs.
