Mumbai : In yet another shocking incident after a 22-year-old MBA student was molested recently, a five-year-old girl in a complaint filed at the Kandivali police station have stated that she was allegedly molested by one of the staff of her high profile school in western suburb.

According to the statement of the victim, the man who committed the crime was called as ‘Uncle’ by all the other school students.

The incident took place on August 4, when the victim had gone to the toilet and noticed the accused touching another girl inappropriately. As soon as the so called ‘Uncle’ noticed he was being watched, he came near the 5-year-old who was witness to his heinous actions and held her hand and molested her.

According to the police, the mother of the victim, on Monday, noticed that her daughter was not behaving as per her routine. On further inquiring with her daughter, the victim revealed that she was molested in the school toilet by a man, who threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed this matter to anyone.

On hearing their daughter’s ordeal, parents immediately approached the Kandivali police on Tuesday and filed a complaint. Police have called upon the staff members of the school and have questioned them in regard to the case.

According to the police, phone locations of the staffs of the day when the incident took place are also being checked. Police further informed that the footage in the CCTV installed in and around the school premises have been erased as it has a memory of collecting data for maximum one week. Police are now calling the staff personally and taking down their statements.

“There are no data in the CCTV machine of that particular day. The CCTV only stores data of just one week and so data has been overwritten,” said a police officer. After registering a case under Section 4 and 8 of POSCO and section 354 and 506 of IPC, police called the staff of the school.

Senior police inspector of Kandivali police station Mukund Pawar has confirmed that the said complaint has been registered. “We have received the complaint and further investigations are on,” said Pawar. Police have started the hunt for the accused.
