Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) claims to have completed 30 per cent of the cleaning project of the nullahs in the city, despite missing the deadline of May 31, in order to avoid water logging during the monsoon season.
In the monthly review meeting the reports of the works of the nullah cleaning in all big and small nallah’s, low lying areas were presented for the BMC commissioner to check.
And also what prepartions does the SWD have in case of water logging. The SWD said that they were ready with Dewatering pump, cordinantion of the man power, closure of manhole. BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta, has directed Pravin Darade, the additional commissioner to arrange a meeting with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and direct them to ensure the debris of metro work are not dumped in the nullahs.
