Ujjain: The crime branch police claimed to have arrested miscreants who were accepting bets on IPL cricket matches from Sakhipura area and seized Rs 27000 in cash, mobile phones, laptops and details of betting contracts worth lakhs of rupees. The betters Ankit Jain and Mayank Jain are resident of Ravishakar Nagar and Pankaj Kothari lives in Suraj Nagar.
Just after Pankaj Kothari was arrested, his father Sohanlal Kothari received a massive heart attack and died. Pankaj has been released on bail to perform final rites of his father. Mayank Jain has fled the spot and a manhunt has been launched to nab him. Ankit’s record is being checked and he might be externed from the city.
