Ujjain: Western employees union Ratlam division handed over a memorandum to general manager AK Gupta on his arrival in which it raised issues related to employee welfare. Divisional head SS Sharma stated that benefits of new 7 th pay scale has not been applied to salaries of running staff. Sharma also raised issue of scarcity in appointing skilled mason, fitter, ironsmiths and carpenters which is affecting the repairing work in the division. Cleanliness arrangements should also be improved at platforms and railway colonies. He told that piles of garbage can be seen many railway colonies at present.
WERU also demanded that risk allowance be provided to TRD staff. The union drew attention of the GM to implement new pension scheme and scrap the old pension scheme for the benefit of employees. The WERU insisted to establish a sub divisional railway hospital for as many as 5000 railway employees, so that they may take the advantage in Ujjain rather that going Ratlam again and again.
It also demanded to provided hostel facility and playground to children of railway employees. The WERU also demanded centralised headquarters for stationmasters so that their kids get good education. Divisional head Sharma said that in memorandum scarcity of railway rescue staffers, coach conductors and other problems were also highlighted so that the GM may take initiative as early as possible.
