Ujjain: Pensioners of Vikram University handed over a memorandum demanding pension equal to government pensioners to former chief minister and senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh on his arrival in city on Friday. The pensioners’ delegation was led by Dr PP Vashishtha. Dr Vashishtha demanded that university employees should be given the same pension benefits as other state government employees are getting.
He cited a meeting with the governor in which it was proposed in sub rule 37 to equalise pension schemes with other state government employees. Vashishtha urged Singh to use his power in higher education department in this issue in view of financial problems of old pensioners.
